AccessibleBC! Working Group

Leaders in Boulder City want to be inclusive and welcoming to all residents and visitors. In order to help Boulder City achieve better than ADA compliance, staff created "AccessibleBC! A Working Group" for better accessibility for all.

Members developed recommendations to improve accessibility and usability of City-owned buildings, parks, projects and infrastructure, such as sidewalks. The work group considered industry best practices, Federal, State and Local regulations, and most importantly, personal experiences, for inclusive accessibility.

The team was comprised of volunteers who personally - or through a family member, close relation or their employment - live with a condition that affects daily activities, such as Post-traumatic stress disorder, hearing impairments, visual impairments, mobility disabilities (requiring use of a wheelchair, walker or cane) Autism, Cerebral Palsy, intellectual impairments, major depressive disorders, and/or traumatic brain injuries. They provided City Council with a list of recommendations in 2024.
