The 74th annual Damboree Parade and Fireworks Celebration in Boulder City is scheduled for Monday, July 4, 2022. Celebrate this Independence Day with events starting early in the morning and fun lasting into the late evening!
The parade Grand Marshalls for 2022 are Boulder City Fire Department and Parks and Recreation staff. “It is great to see these departments recognized after all of their hard work through the pandemic,” said City Manager Taylour Tedder. “Last year, Judge Victor Miller and his Court staff had the honor. (Also please note: parking for this year’s fireworks at Veterans Memorial Park is $20. The increase is due to higher costs for fireworks.)
Events include:
• Pancake Breakfast: The Rotary Club of Boulder City will hold their annual Pancake Breakfast in Bicentennial Park, 1100 Colorado St. from 7 a.m. - 9 a.m.
• Damboree Parade: The parade starts at 9:00 a.m. with the Boulder City Veterans’ Flying Group flyover down Nevada Way. The route begins at Colorado Street and continues south on Nevada Way; turns left on 5th Street and finishes in Broadbent Memorial Park. The parade’s “water zone” runs from Avenue A to Avenue B and Avenue B to the end of the parade at 6th Street. This is the only location along the route where water play is allowed. WATER BALLOONS ARE PROHIBITED. Parade entries must apply by June 22 at www.bcnv.org/Damboree. Entries cost $15.00.
• Coin Toss: Bring the kids to the Boulder City Pool to cool off during the Coin Toss starting at 11 a.m. Entry is free to children under 18 years of age. Parents or guardians must fill out a release of liability form for the child to enter the pool without them. Children eight years or younger must have someone 14 years or older with them at the pool. If the child under eight years old is a non-swimmer, the person older than 14 must be in the water with them within arm’s length.
• Festivities and Fireworks: The fun will continue at Veteran's Memorial Park, 1650 Buchanan Blvd. from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Entry is $20 per vehicle this year. Food, music and games will be available. The fireworks show begins at 9 p.m.

As a reminder, the Eldorado Valley Dry Lake Bed Recreation Area is closed to the public every year from July 3 until July 5. The closure is done to prevent large crowds, illegal fireworks, trash and human waste as has been left there in the past. In 2014, City Council approved Resolution 6124, closing the recreation area annually during this timeframe.
