Title VI Nondiscrimination Policy

Policy Statement
Boulder City Municipal Airport (BVU) assures that no person shall on the grounds of race, color, national origin, sex or creed as provided by Title IV of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, The Civil Rights Restoration Act of 1987 (PL 100.259), and the Selection 520 of the Airport and Airway Improvement Act of 1982 by excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination under any program or activity.  BVU further assures every effort will be made to ensure nondiscrimination in all of its programs and activities, whether those programs are federally funded or not.  Anytime communities may be impacted by programs or activities every effort will be made to involve their leaders and the general public in the decision making process.  Awards of contracting, concessionaires, and leases are made without regard for race, color, national origin, sex, creed or disability.

Notice to the Public
Boulder City Municipal Airport (BVU) maintains a policy that no person shall be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination in the receipt of services on the grounds of race, color, national origin, sex age, creed/religion or disability as protected by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, and related Acts and regulations. Any person who believes they have been aggrieved by an unlawful discriminatory practice may file a complaint with the BVU Title VI Coordinator mail to the following location:

Individuals who believe they have been subjected to discrimination are required by federal regulation to submit the complaint no later than ninety [90] calendar days from the alleged incident.  

Complaints should be submitted in writing using the Airport's Title VI Complaint Form found in the Title VI Nondiscrimination Policy.

If a complaint is initially made by phone, it must be supplemented with a written complaint.  Accommodation will be provided upon request to individuals unable to file a complaint due to disability. Upon request, BVU will make available language assistance for persons with limited English proficiency as needed to file a complaint.
